Revisiting Crochet
Last Fall I taught myself how to crochet. It was because I thought Pia might be cold from wearing sleeveless dresses, haha! Yes I realize she’s a doll but I didn’t want to take on a huge time-consuming project. This lavender sweater was my first true “big” project, completed last November.
Why am I blogging about it now? Well, because Fall is back again and I am revisiting Crochet. 🙂
Pattern: Red Heart Walking the Dog – Free pattern
Yarn: Hobby Lobby Metallic I Love This Yarn in Lavender Sparkle
One skein. There was some leftover.
Some construction photos:
It turned out a little tight in the waist so I omitted that last 3rd button on the bottom. I’m not really sure if it’s because of Pia’s measurements or my crochet gauge. (most likely the latter, lol)
Final Product:
Even though it didn’t quite fit Pia I was really proud of myself once the sweater was complete. I even made a matching beret which also turned out a little too tight for her head… but not bad for a Beginner, eh? 😉
So, so cute. Well done! Are you on Ravelry? Would love to follow you. Taught myself to knit about 10 years ago and moved on to machine knitting (so impatient). Taught myself to crochet about 50 years ago. Next project for you? Make that in your size. It is awesome.
Hi Karen- Thank you so much!! Machine knitting sounds amazing! Do you prefer crochet over knitting? I am on Ravelry as “RosieRoseToo”. Let’s follow each other! I’m still learning how to navigate that website. Currently crocheting a hat for Pia but just finished a scarf for myself. (An upcoming post) Thanks for stopping by my blog. =)
